We provide these dogs to Honorably Discharged Veterans from any branch of the Armed Forces or from any service era meeting our eligibility standards.

Greyhound Rescue of New York is a small 501(c)3 that formed in 1995 to re-home retired racing

Greyhounds. Our adoption area is  approximately an hour drive from Clifton Park.Lake George to Catskill and Canajoharie to Hoosick Falls.  Adoptions are possible outside of this area on a case by case basis.

Town of Colonie K-9 Unit

The Colonie Police Department K-9 Unit originated in 1978 with the acquisition of a dual-purpose German Shepherd trained in patrol functions as well as narcotic detection to assist officers in their regular course of duties as well as serve as a crime prevention tool. The K-9's ability to locate hidden contraband or a hidden suspect can save the officer's time and their exposure to potentially life threatening situations. The team is a normal patrol unit and will respond to routine calls for service as well as perform their specialized duties as a K-9 team.

SCRUFF (Spaying Capital Region Unowned Feral Felines)- New This Year

SCRUFF (Spaying Capital Region Unowned Feral Felines), is a Trap-Neuter-vaccinate-Return (TNvR) organization for feral and stray cats. Run by dedicated volunteers, SCRUFF provides low-cost spay/neuter services for this unchecked population of unowned cats.

 

Founded by Dr. Susan Sikule of Just Cats Veterinary Clinic, SCRUFF's mission is to work with the public to humanely reduce the population of feral and stray cats and to educate the public on ways to care for these “community” cats.
